Job Purpose
To manage and oversee rooftop and ground-mounted solar sales on a pan-India basis Overall responsible for lead generation, sales, collections, installation and servicing commercial and industrial rooftop and ground-mounted solar projects To recruit, lead, motivate, and monitor performance of rooftop and ground-mounted solar sales staff pan-India To be a senior member of the executive management team alongside the CEO, COO, and CFO

A: Sales:

  • To sell rooftop and ground-mounted solar systems to commercial and industrial (C&I) customers with a particularly focus on SMEs in the following states: Karnataka, AP / Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Delhi / NCR
  • To analyse markets pan-India at the state level and sub-state level, and ensure that resources are concentrated on high potential areas
  • To continuously review and make recommendations to management on new market entries in other states or exit from existing states
  • To use the company’s in-house finance facility for SME customers effectively and put up good credit-worthy prospects to Credit Committee which will be eligible for credit from the company
  • To develop potential C&I customers into prospects and to carefully track their progression through to order closure and full payment
  • To identify and execute industry association events where the company can present its proposition and track records and generate valuable leads among key decision makers
  • To continually suggest marketing initiatives that can help to grow overall sales, cost-effectively

B: Leadership:

  • To recruit and help further build the PV project sales team over time;
  • Manage and grow indirect channel partner network that provide leads to support sales through direct sales managers
  • To continuously train, inspire and motivate and expand the C&I PV sales team
  • To ensure that sales managers log all relevant sales information through the company’s CRM in a disciplined fashion – oversee this work to ensure that accurate and that being used for planning and for successful monthly and quarterly performance
  • To ensure timely follow-up with customers who have enquired about a system; to set standards for how long it will take to reach all interested customers, and then ensure that standard is met
  • To liaise with VP Operations to ensure proper order execution – in particularly proper receipt of payment prior to dispatch / installation
  • To liaise closely with VP Technical and the technical team on final installation and after-sales service

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Senior level Individual with 10-15 years of experience in techno-commercial B2B sales with 3-4 years as a head of sales Experience in the solar industry is highly desired Exceptional ability to lead and manage a large team, spread across India Willing to travel extensively 15-20 days per month Proven track-record in handling a projects business / department with bottom line responsibility Prior experience in handling large-scale PV projects and key accounts Strong strategic mind – able to identify opportunity and effectively go after it Strong leader – able to manage senior members of the projects sales team Can present himself / herself well and represent the company at senior levels
